In Shoreditch, Prada Beauty recreated Zendaya’s fragrance-film mural by hand

Share

A mural that Zendaya encounters in a Prada fragrance film now has a real London address. At 112 Tabernacle Street in Shoreditch, Prada Beauty has recreated the image as a hand-painted outdoor installation for Prada Paradoxe Sweet Chemistry Eau de Parfum.

The connection gives the wall a story beyond its scale. People who have seen the film can recognise a piece of its world in the city. Those encountering the campaign for the first time meet the same image through paint and architecture.

Unveiled in September 2026, the mural is on display until 4 October.

From Barry Jenkins’ film to Tabernacle Street

The installation draws from Never The Same, Always Myself, the fragrance campaign film directed by Barry Jenkins. In the film, Zendaya walks past a painted mural of herself. Prada carried that encounter into Shoreditch by recreating the campaign image on an actual building.

That choice gives the film and outdoor work a direct relationship. The wall is a place people can visit, while the film supplies the context for the image they find there. Each encounter offers another way into the same campaign.

The address also makes the connection concrete. A viewer can move from watching the scene to finding its London counterpart. For the duration of the installation, part of the fragrance campaign occupies a public street.

Hundreds of square metres, painted by hand

The mural spans hundreds of square metres and was painted by the artists of Global Street Art. Its size carries Zendaya’s portrait across the building, while its production gives the image a physical presence tied to the wall itself.

Hand painting is a meaningful choice for a campaign moving between film and a real location. The portrait has been remade for the surface where people encounter it. The artists’ work becomes part of how Prada presents the image in public.

Shoreditch adds another layer to that decision. The neighbourhood’s association with street art places the installation in surroundings where painted walls are already part of the visual landscape. Prada’s fragrance launch enters that setting through the same medium.

A new scent within the Paradoxe story

Sweet Chemistry extends the Prada Paradoxe fragrance collection, which began in 2022. The new fruity floral scent combines a blackcurrant syrup accord, orange blossom absolute and a neroli milk accord.

The campaign continues Paradoxe’s theme of an identity that can evolve while remaining recognisably itself. Zendaya carries that idea across the film and the London installation.

Recreating the mural gives the campaign’s line a tangible expression. The image takes another form as it moves from a filmed scene to a painted building, retaining its connection to Zendaya and the fragrance. Until 4 October, visitors to Tabernacle Street can encounter that next version in person.
