In Baku, McCafé found the shape of a coffee break in everyday chairs

Share

A seat with a view already offers somewhere to pause. McCafé added coffee to that moment by joining the back of a chair to the body of its yellow takeaway cup. The furniture and the packaging shared a curve, making the two objects appear to belong together.

Sip Happens…anytime, released in Azerbaijan in July 2025, used this visual idea across three executions. Each placed McCafé within a familiar Baku setting, linking a coffee break with places where people could stop, sit and enjoy their surroundings.

The campaign covered print and digital formats. Its invitation was simple. An everyday pause could become a moment for McCafé.

The chair supplied the cup’s upper edge

The join between the scene and the packaging carried the idea. A photograph filled the upper part of each image. Below it, a yellow panel showed the body of a McCafé cup, with the brand’s name across the front.

At the point where the two parts met, the curved chair back appeared to form the cup’s rim. The furniture stayed recognisable, while its shape also completed the product beneath it.

That connection gave the packaging a role within the scene. The cup occupied the same position as the seat, associating coffee with the act of taking a break.

The three images used different kinds of seating, including a wooden waterfront seat, an upholstered chair and a desk chair. Their materials and surroundings changed, while the same relationship between chair and cup held the series together.

This gave the campaign room to move between leisure and work. A view over the water, an open window and a desk each suggested a different kind of pause. McCafé accompanied all three.

Baku gave “anytime” a local setting

The city remained a substantial part of the images. Baku’s waterfront and architecture supplied recognisable surroundings, placing the coffee invitation within the audience’s own environment.

The open views also gave the headline space. “Sip happens…” appeared above the scene, while “…anytime” sat in the yellow section below. Reading the line meant moving through the photograph and the product.

“Sip happens” borrowed the rhythm of a familiar English expression and replaced its opening word with a coffee action. The addition of “anytime” widened the invitation to include the small breaks that arise during an ordinary day.

Across the series, a place to sit became a suggestion to stop for coffee. The chair connected that suggestion to the scene, and the yellow cup made it distinctly McCafé.
